net.com and GreenPages partner to deliver broadband provisioning platform for BridgeCom
New broadband services platform helps BridgeCom deliver complete business communications offering
Fremont, CA, April 14, 2004 -- net.com (NYSE:NWK) and GreenPages Inc. announced today that BridgeCom International, Inc., a full service integrated communications provider, has selected a layer 3 provisioning and IP address management solution from GreenPages and net.com that includes net.com's SCREAM release 3.0 service creation platform.
BridgeCom, based in the Northeastern United States, is initially deploying the net.com/GreenPages solution to offer business broadband services in the metropolitan New York City area, one of the most competitive telecommunications markets in the world.
“The SCREAM solution combines subscriber management, IP routing and ATM switching in one platform,” said Jeff Cloud, Director of OSS and Network Planning at BridgeCom. “It allows us to dynamically assign and manage class of service, or CoS , per customer and to aggregate all off-net customer traffic at one location. And having Cisco IOS running on the platform is a key advantage, providing seamless interoperability with our installed Cisco edge routers.”
net.com's SCREAM release 3.0 service creation platform was selected by BridgeCom for its strong BRAS (broadband remote access server) functionality, as well as integrated ATM (asynchronous transfer mode) switching and the Cisco IOS routing engine. By providing an integrated ATM switch, network operators are able to lower service delivery costs by leveraging a single platform. Because IOS is so widely deployed, operators can quickly integrate the SCREAM 3.0 platform into existing networks.
