DSL service providers need to respond to operational and service price pressure while looking to deploy new broadband remote access servers (BRAS) that will deliver revenue generating voice and video services. The SCREAM^® family from NET provides cost effective BRAS functionality today that adapts to a TR-059 compliant IP service delivery platform for tomorrow.

The SCREAM platform integrates the functionality of three distinct network elements - BRAS, IP edge router, and ATM switch - within a unique, hybrid IP and ATM architecture. This combination enables SCREAM to commoditize today’s broadband Internet deployments without compromising on enhanced business and consumer services.

SCREAM's full featured ATM, IP and MPLS capabilities, married with Ethernet aggregation functionality, delivers an easy-to-deploy migration and aggregation option for existing narrowband and ATM networks.

SCREAM offers core BRAS functionality required for today's DSL deployments including basic subscriber aggregation PPPoE and PPPoA, 2684 and LAC functionality. SCREAM scales from 5 to 40 Gbps and offers enhanced redundancy and resiliency options for "always-on" service delivery. Support of QServ provides unmatched capabilities for triple-play and TR-059-based deployments in DSL environments.

For larger deployments, the SCREAM100 offers impressive density and scalability. Designed to support 128,000 subscriber sessions, the SCREAM100 is a high performance, fully redundant service delivery platform for central office, and metro POP, deployments.

The SCREAM50 is a lower cost, lower density subscriber aggregation platform for providing identical functionality but in more remote, or distributed, locations.

Key features of all SCREAM platforms include:

QServ, the advanced quality of service functionality that leverages the hybrid cell/packet architecture of SCREAM to maintain five layers of traffic shaping and simultaneously preserve QoS across IP and ATM networks.

Cisco IOS^®-based routing/MPLS engine. SCREAM provides guaranteed interoperability with installed Cisco routers, and a familiar configuration environment.

ATM and IP, over serial, interfaces. These provide inter-working with installed serial devices, often found in enterprise, government, secure and existing Promina networks.

Complete ATM switch with 40 Gbps non-blocking, full duplex capacity designed to upgrade or replace installed ATM switches.
