Providing an infrastructure capable of economically delivering voice, video, and data services to the mass consumer market takes a 'triple-play' platform. Full Service Access Networks (FSAN) demand a comprehensive interworking function (IWF) in order to provide seamless interconnection with the backbone networks delivering these three disparate services. Perhaps more important, though, is the ability to deliver triple play services across the most prolific broadband access mechanism in the world: Plain old ADSL.
